Now acclimatized and loving the Parisian lifestyle, DJ PAULETTE (connue comme la plus francais des djs Anglais et le plus Anglaise des djs francais) has spent the last two years working hard, learning a new language, learning new skills, making new international contacts and effortlessly improving her technique. Two whirlwind years of weekly radio shows, amazing Parisian residencies and touring throughout France and overseas, saw Paulette winning the Burn FG DJ Award in 2007 and earning her rightful place amongst her French DJ peers including David Guetta, Didier Sinclair, Bob Sinclar and Joachim Garraud. She is one of only a handful of dj / residents who can claim the honour of having a weekly Radio FG show which boasts a 4*/5 rating by listeners and has one of the highest online hitrates of the station.
The end of 2009 saw Paulette’s labours come to fruition with new weekly residencies on Radio FG (Belgium & Morocco). Paulette gained further recognition this year for bringing her open-air musical tsunami to FG’s Fete De La Musique stage (June 09), to Colmar alongside the world’s number 1 DJ, David Guetta (Aug 09) and to FG’s Technoparade char (Sept 09) (again alongside David Guetta). She continues to headline all over France (Amnesia (Cap D’Agde), LC (Nantes), Inox (Toulouse), 4Sans (Bordeaux),Villa Rouge (Montpellier), Les Planches (Deauville)) and as far afield as Gatecrasher (Birmingham), Circus in Montreal, from Warsaw to the Lifeball in Austria, to Manumission – Minimission International Tour then onto Miami: Cocoon & King Kamehameha (Frankfurt), Amnesia (Ibiza), Club Q (Zurich), Pacha (Barcelona & Marrakech) and Byblos (Porec). Much loved by Parisians and clubbers the world over for her inimitable style, high-octane dance routines and her personal approach to DJ’ing, Paulette’s style is here to stay and you can be sure that with her new Parisian residency starting in April 2010 at Queen Club she affirms her status as a permanent fixture on the French clubbing scene.
The end of May 2010 see the release of the Ibiza Fever 10 compilation for Toolroom Records (UK) and distributed by Wagram (France), so it’s clear that Paulette’s year has got off to a flying start. Paulette was also bitten by the production bug last year, producing a re-edit of Mr Oizo’s ‘Positif’ with Queen Resident and Paradise Recordings artist, Michael Kaiser (available online via her Myspace and offical Facebook fan pages) and creating the original track SLOK VS DJ PAULETTE - Boxset (Set it Off) which was promoted across the radio and Billboard in the US via Maxi Promotions.she has also been working with production partners in Amsterdam, London, Switzerland and Sheffield and is determined to create something special! Paulette worked 24/7 through the summer of 2009 to create a monthly podcast available through Itunes, creating an official and bi-lingual Facebook fan page (at nearly 5000 fans in less than a year), Mixcloud, Soundcloud, Resident Advisor and Rivmixx pages and she is a self –confessed Twitterholic. She has beautiful new photos shot by Chris Davison (Prodigy / Muse and creator of all the DJ Magazine covers); her Myspace site has been revamped and the new djpaulette.com website is under construction for launch in Summer 2010.
Write to her via Twitter, Facebook or Myspace and you are guaranteed a personal response. Stop her in the club or the street and a smile, a hello and a smiling picture or even a dance on the dancefloor are second nature: she rarely leaves a club straight after her set unless her return trip demands it. The radio shows and podcast are created personally and with love every week and recorded in one take, as live – no trickery or re-edits involved. And since what you see is what you get, you can rest assured that with Paulette in the house, you have a glamorous bête de mode from her head to her toes and someone who loves her job, lives and breathes music and who delights in playing cutting edge music and road-testing her favourite producers’ promos before they hit the Beatport charts.
In every way, Paulette is adaptable, flexible, personable, approachable, accessible, open and more durable than an army of Duracell bunnies. She’s a unique DJ and a powerful woman in a world less and less populated by dj’ettes and whom, despite the fickle nature of the industry knows no fear, is not afraid of change and as such holds fast as one of the best known, best loved, most respected and one of the busiest female djs on the planet. With her beauty, style, courage, strength and kindness she has become someone who never ceases to inspire – or entertain.
